Doggie Daycare & Boarding
Dog boarding is available in my home on my farm in Sykesville is available on a first come, first serve basis. I only take up to 10 dogs at a time, so space fills quickly, especially during school holidays. Please visit my Facebook page for information regarding availability.
I am a kennel free facility, but I have crates available for dogs (or owners) who need/want them. I do not crate dogs unless advised to do so by their owner. Our walk out basement is set up as a doggie daycare for the dogs. We have 3 spacious rooms with custom doors that allow air to circulate and the dogs to see out so that they don't feel claustrophobic, luxury vinyl plank flooring (it has good texture for the dogs so it isn't slippery and it is easy to clean), Kuranda beds, fleece blankets that are washed daily and bottomless water bowls. The bowls, floors and beds/crates are cleaned and sanitized daily. Dogs who aren't crated are divided into small, compatible groups when indoors so that they can rest comfortably. During inclement weather, the interior doors are left open to give the dogs ample space to play inside. All dogs play together in our large, securely fenced yard where they can safely run and play. The yard is cleaned up multiple times a day and I have a drinking water fountain for the dogs outside. There is always shade available to the dogs when outside. The dogs dictate the day -- when they want to be out, they're out, when they want to be in, they're in.
I do not accept dogs with severe behavioral or health problems. This is an active, social environment and is not suitable for dogs who have limited mobility, severe separation anxiety or aggression of any type. All dogs are thoroughly evaluated before I will agree to board them, and I have a zero tolerance policy for aggression, destructive behavior and excessive barking, as this is my home, not a cinder block kennel. All dogs must be fully vaccinated and be on a flea/tick preventative.
I'm not currently accepting new dogs for daily/weekly daycare due to limited space, but all boarding dogs participate in daycare.

Puppy Raising
The first few weeks of your puppy's life away from their litter are the most important -- this is when they learn acceptable social behavior, bathroom habits, and develop confidence. Many behavioral issues later in life can be avoided if puppies are set up for success. Adding a puppy to your family can feel like a full time job, but it doesn't have to! I can take your puppy for the first few weeks to get them off to a good start with crate training, basic commands, manners, toy training, leash walking, and housebreaking using positive reinforcement. I will socialize your puppy with new people, dogs, and other animals, as well as take them to new environments where they can see and hear new sights and sounds. I recommend 2-4 weeks of initial training to set your puppy up for success. This is only offered to puppies who are 8 to 12 weeks old at the time of drop off -- I do not offer remedial training for older dogs.
